I had the pleasure to speak at the recent Creative Edinburgh's Creative Corporate Love event on partnerships this week. Amidst the madness of Innovative Learning Week, it felt pretty special to take some time and reflect on ways of working to give it all some perspective.
For me, it's about the potluck. A midwestern tradition - a potluck is all about creating a table and inviting people to mark an occasion by sharing food together. The food carries meaning - a story, a particular value, a heritage. It's a lovely event to be a part of and has accidentally become an important way of working for me and viewing how we gather. It's about a holding a space (which the amazing Geoffrey Baines taught me) and inviting others along.
I was so inspired by the other speakers and the conversations after the event. As a new member, I've always watched Creative Edinburgh from afar and it was fantastic to rub elbows with some of their members. I look forward to all the chats over coffee coming up .
